Obra de la Colección Mediterránea en un salón

The right piece changes the character of a room. That is the idea behind every abstract artwork at AEFE Arte: not another object to fill a wall, but original paintings made by hand, one at a time, that give a space a soul. Behind each canvas is Adriana Fernández, a Spanish abstract painter based in Ibiza, who works with colour, texture and movement as vehicles of calm.

It isn’t decoration: it’s presence. The right painting turns a wall into the emotional centre of a home.

Original abstract art: why a unique piece

An original is unrepeatable. No other home has the same work, and you can feel it: the matter has relief, the layers of paint leave their trace, and the light shifts across the surface through the day. Mass-produced decor stays a flat surface; a hand painted work carries a story, a hand and an intention.

Which piece speaks to your wall?

Buying original paintings in Spain shouldn’t feel like a leap in the dark. Send a photo of your living room, bedroom or the wall you have in mind. Adriana looks at the natural light, the tones, the furniture and the scale of the room, and suggests the work that brings harmony in size, colour and composition.

She can also prepare a realistic simulation of the painting on your own wall, so you see it at home before you decide. Everything can be handled in English, by WhatsApp or email, with a personal reply within 24 hours.

Mediterranean Collection 2026: hand painted texture, colour and landscape

Thirteen unique pieces, all painted in 2026 in acrylic with textured matter, inspired by light, the sea and the stillness of timeless interiors. Modern artwork that doesn’t copy the landscape: it translates it into colour and matter, with a painterly, expressive gesture held in balance. Horizons that dissolve, coastlines seen from above, surfaces worn like a rock beside the water.

You’ll find large formats such as Silencio de Horizonte (160×80 cm) and Materia Serena (140×70 cm), almost square works like Costa de Ibiza and Profundidades (105×104 cm), diptychs such as Equilibrio en Movimiento and the small Mareas Serenas set (30×30 cm). Adriana also regularly paints formats up to 2 metres wide and, on commission, larger still. Here is the whole collection:

Three ways to live with abstract paintings

The sea as a palette

Deep blues, cove turquoise, sand and the white of sea foam. To bring the calm of the coast indoors, explore the sea paintings of the collection.

Matter you can almost touch

Ridges, cracks, layers of bitumen and asphalt paint that change under raking light. If the tactile side draws you in, see the textured paintings with relief.

A wall with presence

A generous format brings order to a whole room and becomes its focal point. For high ceilings or a bedhead wall, browse the large abstract paintings.

For homes in Ibiza, Mallorca and across Spain

Adriana paints from her studio in Ibiza town, surrounded by the light she translates onto canvas. Perhaps your home is by the sea too: a villa with white walls, an apartment facing the bay. For those homes there are ideas in art for Ibiza villas and paintings for homes in Mallorca. Every work arrives as a stretched canvas on a wooden stretcher frame, ready to hang, and travels with professional packaging to any address in Spain.

How to choose an abstract acrylic artwork: colour, form and scale

  1. Scale. A piece that is too small gets lost. As a guide, above a sofa or bed choose one around two-thirds of its width.
  2. Light. Relief comes alive with side light; beige, grey and other neutral tones soften very bright rooms, while deep blues bring a sense of shelter.
  3. Dialogue with what you have. Echoing a tone from your textiles, wood or stone makes the painting look made for that place, because it is.

Torn between two pieces? Seeing each one on your own wall settles in seconds what is hard to imagine.

Commissions made for your space

Sometimes the perfect work doesn’t exist yet. With a commissioned painting, you agree the size, palette and composition for your room together, using the same techniques as the collection. Every piece comes with a certificate of authenticity, and you deal directly with the artist, with no middlemen. Payment is simple: Bizum or bank transfer.

A contemporary visual language of calm

Abstraction needs no object or representation: it speaks through colour, shape and form, and lets emotion do the rest. Adriana’s work belongs to its quieter, organic side rather than the geometric one. Every element, from a crack in the matter to a band of light, is there to slow down your viewing. The inspiration is always nature; the aesthetic, serene. Her paintings are made to live with contemporary architecture and wellness spaces: works with intent, made to stay, whether you are a first-time buyer or a collector.

FAQ

What people ask me

What is abstract art all about?

Abstract art doesn't depict recognisable objects: it expresses itself through colour, form, texture and movement. That's why you don't decode it, you feel it. In Adriana's work the landscape and the Mediterranean are evoked through matter and light rather than copied.

Does abstract art need a subject?

Not in the literal sense. Since Kandinsky and the art movements of the 20th century, many painters have worked without a visible subject. There is usually a starting point, though: for Adriana it is the sea, the horizon and the silence of nature.

Where can I buy original paintings in Spain?

The safest way is to buy directly from the artist: you know who painted the work, you receive a certificate of authenticity and you can ask everything before deciding. With AEFE Arte you deal with Adriana from start to finish, in English, with delivery anywhere in Spain.

Can I see the painting on my wall before buying?

Yes. Send a photo of your wall and Adriana prepares a realistic simulation of the piece at its real scale, next to your furniture. It's free and there's no obligation.

How do the paintings arrive and how do I pay?

Each painting arrives stretched on a wooden stretcher frame, ready to hang, with professional packaging and delivery anywhere in Spain. You can pay by Bizum or bank transfer, and you receive a certificate of authenticity.

Do you take commissions?

Yes. Size, composition and colours can be adapted to your space, using the same techniques as the Mediterranean Collection: acrylic, textured matter, relief, bitumen of Judea and asphalt paint.
