Houses in Mallorca are built from the island itself. Honey-coloured marès sandstone, dry-stone terraces, lime render that softens every corner, timber beams, green shutters closed against the midday sun. Inside, walls are thick and uneven, and the light comes in sideways through small, deep windows. Put a flat, glossy picture on that kind of wall and it looks borrowed. Put something with matter and relief on it, and the wall and the painting start to talk.
That conversation is the whole point of this contemporary art. Mallorca homes, with their stone and lime, were very much in mind. Adriana Fernández is a Balearic artist from Ibiza, the neighbouring island, whose abstract, organic work uses colour, texture and movement as vehicles of calm. She knows island houses from the inside. From her studio in Ibiza town she works with you from a photo of your wall, and the original is delivered to your door, across Mallorca or anywhere else in Spain.
Art for Mallorca fincas, townhouses and Palma de Mallorca apartments
Every type of home on the island asks for something slightly different.
Country fincas and stone houses
In a restored finca, the stone already does a lot of work. Art should share its palette rather than compete with it: earth, ochre, sand, the grey of old olive bark. Large works with heavy texture sit naturally next to exposed marès and lime, and they hold their own in rooms with high, beamed ceilings.
The Tramuntana and the light of Deià
Houses in the Serra de Tramuntana, on the north-west of Mallorca, live with a particular light: mountain on one side, sea on the other, and late-afternoon sun that turns stone gold. Pieces built on the horizon line, with blue and stone tones, echo that view inside without trying to copy it.
Apartments in Palma de Mallorca
In the old town of Palma, apartments often have tall ceilings, original tiles and long corridor walls. Here a vertical or wide horizontal piece can define the whole space. In newer flats around the bay of Palma, a calmer, more minimal work in neutral tones brings warmth to white architecture.
Sea and stone: the Mediterranean Collection 2026 for Mallorca
The collection holds 13 unique works, all painted in 2026 in acrylic with matter textures (impasto), relief, bitumen of Judea and asphalt paint. For Mallorca interiors, the pieces that work hardest are the ones where you can almost touch the surface:
- Horizonte en Calma (120×90 cm): acrylic, matter and bitumen of Judea, with the warm, aged depth that suits old stone.
- Equilibrio en Pétalos (120×80 cm): paint and texture inspired by coastal erosion, the same slow process that shaped the island’s coves.
- Límites and Horizontes (130×75 cm each): paint, texture and asphalt paint, strong enough for a long wall in a finca.
- Profundidades (105×104 cm): a square piece for a wall between two windows or above a fireplace.
- Mareas Serenas (set of 30×30 cm): textured relief and acrylic, ideal for a smaller wall, a bedroom or a guest house.

Choosing contemporary art for Mallorca from a distance
Whether the house is in Deià, Sóller, Pollença or on the outskirts of Palma, the approach is the same. You may be in Mallorca only a few months a year, or not on the island at all while the renovation finishes. That is fine. When you send a photo, Adriana looks at three things before suggesting anything:
- The light that reaches the wall, and when. Relief reads very differently under morning and evening sun.
- The materials around it: stone, lime, wood, tiles, and the tones of your furniture.
- The scale: how far away you will stand, the ceiling height, what the painting has to balance.
Then you receive a realistic simulation of how the art will look in your Mallorca room, the chosen piece on your own wall at true size. Only when it feels right do you decide. You can ask for your free simulation today; the advice is personal, free, in English, and you get a reply within 24 hours. Each original arrives as a stretched canvas, ready to hang, with professional packaging and a certificate of authenticity.
A piece made for one wall
Old Mallorca houses are full of awkward, beautiful walls: an arched niche, a stone stairwell in a Palma house, a gable under the roof beams. When nothing in the collection is the right fit, Adriana paints a commission in the size, palette and composition your space needs. You see it simulated before it is made. Describe your wall in the commission form.
